Sorry to hear that you are a somewhat sad. Perhaps life has become a little too serious for you. Get the most out of New York while you are there and you will have pleasent memories to look back on. Take time for yourself if you need to and do a few of the things that you enjoy most.
A friend of mine moved to NYC and has been posting really pretty pictures of the Autumn there. I recently moved to L.A. and there is no Autumn here. We've been having coastal wars, trying to show that our city is more rad. I think I know what you mean though, it's a bit maddening, being in the center of cultural dissemination. Love what you do though, keep it up girl.
*sings*Some things in life are bad They can really make you mad Other things just make you swear and curse. When you're chewing on life's gristle Don't grumble, give a whistle And this'll help things turn out for the best... ;)
The sun will come out, tomorrow Bet your bottom dollar That tomorrow, therell be sun Just thinking about, tomorrow Clears away the cobwebs and the sorrow till theres none When Im stuck with the day thats gray and lonely I just stick out my chin and grin and say, ohhh The sun will come out, tomorrow So you gotta hang on till tomorrow Come what may... Tomorrow, tomorrow I love ya, tomorrow Youre always a day away The sun will come out, tomorrow So you gotta hang on till tomorrow Come what may... Tomorrow, tomorrow I love ya, tomorrow You're always a day a--way!
Nothing is wrong with you. Wish I had more for you C. feels like I'm dying of the flu right now. It hurts so much I can barely type. It comes on very slow this one and does not really make it self obvious. Maby your getting sick.
When I feel that way, I just try and break things down into small parts and really try and figure out what's bothering me, and then hopefully fix it (if it even needs fixing).
Sometimes just thinking that way can help you feel better, because usually it can just be a state of mind.
I hope you'll find your way out of it soon and I'm sure you will.
When I lived in London I actually enjoyed being sad... don't know why, but melancholy goes well in such a culturally rich, enormous city where you are just one of so many small, sad souls.
Being sad in sunny, bright, shiny Perth just isn't the same!
I think feeling sadness or being sad is a natural emotion and to achieve happiness you must have some element of sadness to reflect upon and to gauge it by. Being sad is not bad,it's part of life so just embrace it along with everything else along the way.
Go read what I sent you a couple years ago. "I will see your name in lights..."
I'm miserable too. However I can't see myself anywhere else. That's how you can be content while being miserable. We have ups and downs. If you're down, that means you will be on your way back up. "If you're going through hell, keep going." -Winston Churchill

i feel the exact same way
Wait! You forgot to tell us why!
You might be 'sad' but I'm ecstatic that you posted a new update on your blog.
Please keep us informed on what is going on lately with you, because I miserably fail at guessing.
GO TEAM LAST NOTE!

How can you be miserable and content at the same time?

caitlin hill!
where in new york do you live??
It's amazing how surrounded we can all be and yet be alone. I hope whatever is plaguing you and creating the hole of sadness resolves quickly.

:-)
Sometimes you need to get lost before you find yourself. I'm going through the same thing this year. Good luck.
Cheer up, kiddo! :D
NYC's gonna be a drain to anyone not used to it. Too much opportunity, too many choices, too much stuff to do at all times of the day and night.
It'll even out, and then the same stuff that's getting you down now will be what powers you up and makes you into whomever you decide to be next. :)
