I’ve been battling with my old ego a lot throughout the rehearsals because I’ve seen traces of it in my peers, who, unlike me, didn’t stop performing for four years. When it comes to musicals, one has to have a certain amount of confidence to sing and dance and act with the energy needed to fill a theatre, and I struggled with it at first. I was so use to shutting down my childhood ego, to taking it back from ignorant and naive to balanced to completely unsure of my abilities, that I had trouble bringing out the energy I needed to perform without the demons in my head telling me that I was showing-off or stealing the focus.

I'm afraid to play.
